UNIWHEELS: ATS Formula One Racing Car

The basis of our Group of companies, with roots in the late 60’s, was the foundation of ALUTEC Leichtmetallfelgen GmbH in 1996 by Ralf Schmid. In 1998, RIAL Leichtmetallfelgen GmbH was acquired. In order to guarantee further growth and international competitiveness, the construction of a new ALUTEC/RIAL production plant of alloy wheels began in the year 2000 in Stalowa Wola / Poland. In the following years the capacities were expanded continuously, and a fully automated varnishing plant was added.

In 2005 the UNIWHEELS Group was founded, based on ALUTEC and RIAL. In February 2008  UNIWHEELS took over the European activities of ATS Group (revenue in 2007 ca. EUR 240 million) with the parent plant in Werdohl and a larger plant in Poland, ideally positioned at the same location of the production of UNIWHEELS in Stalowa Wola, Poland. This led to an increase of the annual production volume from two million to seven million wheels. In 2011 UNIWHEELS issued bonds amounting to EUR 44.5 million at the trade segment Bondm of the Stuttgart Stock Exchange.

In 2012 the new Flow Forming production in Werdohl and a big varnishing plant in Poland commenced operation, and the new central logistics centre for the Accessories market was opened in Bad Dürkheim. Due to the positive development of business, UNIWHEELS repaid the bonds issued in 2011 at 102% of face value in November 2014. In order to lay the structural and organisational foundation for further growth in the following years UNIWHEELS Holding (Germany) GmbH changed into a stock company in 2014 under the name UNIWHEELS AG.
